On 14.02.2004 there was held a Kurdish
demonstration for the establishment of an
independent Kurdish State in the City of Sulaimani
in South Kurdistan.
This demonstration was organized by the Kurdistan
Independence Congregation and the Kurdistan
National Congress office in South Kurdistan. About
10.000 people joined the demonstration and all
together marched to
the seat of the Kurdistan Regional Government and
to the local office of the Coalition Central
Administration.
They called for the right of self-determination
for the Kurdish people and rejected federalism as
no acceptable solution for the Kurdish problem.
They also called for the election of a new
government for the whole of South Kurdistan
including the Kurdish districts of Mosul, Kirkuk
and Diyala. |
