Eid 5-day celebrations in
Kurdistan start next Sunday
Erbil: Kurdistan region government announced that
Eid festivities (Lesser Bairam) will commence next
Sunday till Thursday. The announcement was made by
media department at the Kurdish Cabinet to be an

Germany: Talabani to return
after Lesser Bairam
Baghdad: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani will return
to Iraq after the Lesser Bairam, and will address
the nation in the coming two days, a well-informed
source said on Wednesday. “The president will
address the nation in the coming two days on the
current political crisis that ravages the country,”
the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. Talabani
had left one month ago to Germany for treatment.

Large turnout for India’s
66Th Independence Day in Kurdistan
Erbil: The Indian community across the Kurdistan
region turned out in large numbers and
enthusiastically celebrated the country’s 66th
Independence Day by unfurling the tricolour of
Indian national flag, IBPC (Indian Business &
Professional Council, Kurdistan) Kurdistan
organisied this events , Indian Business and
Professional council, Kurdistan Act and Promoting
Business Economic & cultural co-operation between
India & Kurdistan. Deligates which were graced as
Chief Guest from Indian Embassy, Baghdad. The events
were also marked by cultural events, songs, dances
and speeches highlighting the contribution of the
Indian community in Kurdistan in the development of
the India and Kurdistan and their role in
strengthening the India & Kurdistan relationship.
Indian Business & Professional Council Kurdistan (IBPC)
organised the India's Independence day celebration
event in Kurdistan soil, (first celebration in
Kurdistan) Several people from Indian & Kurdish
community gathered & participated in the
Independence day function held in Asthi Hall, Erbil,
Kurdistan. Celebration starts with indian National
Anthem and followed by welcoming speech by Indian
Embassy Official Mr PC Biswas read the Indian
President’s address to Indian national and the
program be followed by Entertainment shows and
traditional Indian Food. IBPC Kurdistan Committee
Member Mr Umar Farook Thanked to all Indians &
Kurdish community those who participated and enjoyed

Kurdistan exports
electricity to Tuz Khurmatu
Erbil: Under an order by Kurdistan President Massoud
Barzani, Ministry of Electricity has began exporting
10 megawatts of electricity to the disputed Tuz
Khurmatu parish in Salahaddin province. The power is
being exported to the parish since Tuesday 12.00
p.m., said a statement published on Ministry's
website. This step is taken due to "feeling
responsible for the residents of the disputes
areas," the statement said. A delegation from the
disputed parish, which is home to Arabs, Kurds and
Turkmans, visited Barzani in July and sought his
assistance for resolving the issues over lack of
basic services in the parish. The statement by
Ministry of Electricity said immediately after the
meeting the Ministry was asked to sort out how 10mw
