QAMISHLI, Syrian Kurdistan, — Two Kurdish
parties demand the Kurdish National Council of Syria
(KNCS) release twelve of their members arrested four
days ago.
According to a statement released by the Kurdistan
Democratic Party of Syria (KDP-S) an armed group
calling itself the committee for protection of
people, which is affiliated with KNCS, "kidnapped"
twelve cadres of KDPS and Kurdistan Freedom Party (KFP).
The people were kidnapped from their homes in Sharan
village of Efrin on June 5 after they participated
in a public activity in the area which was conducted
on behalf of the KNCS, according to the statement.
KDPS statement read "such practices [kidnap of the
members] come at a time when the KNCS and the
National Council of Western Kurdistan (NCWK) have
formed joint committees.
"This will negatively affect the efforts to unite
the Kurdish work… Such practices will not serve the
Kurdish nation and Syrian uprising."
The statement called on the KNCS to "immediately
release the kidnapped and stop repeating such
practices which will lead to murder of Kurds by
Kurds …. and will serve only Kurdish adversaries."
The kidnapped are Abdul-Rahamn Abu Rebar, Nuri Khoja,
Mohammed Abdulla Chawush, Tekoshin Khoja, Marwan Ali
