Lebanese Mediterranean Bank
opens in Erbil
Erbil: Lebanon's Mediterranean Bank has opened a new
branch in Erbil. The bank opened its branch
following a ceremony attended by many foreign and
local companies along with Minister of Interior
Karim Sinjari and head of Kurdistan's Chamber of
Commerce and Industry Dara Jalil Khaya.
Mediterranean Bank has branches in many countries
and just recently opened a new branch in Baghdad.

Barzani's Chief of Staff:
There are enough signatures to withdraw confidence
from PM
Erbil: Some 172 MPs have voted to withdraw
confidence from Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki,
said chief of staff of Kurdistan presidential
office, Kurdish Erbil newspaper published Thursday.
There are actually 172 signatures and two are yet to
be made, Fuad Hussein said. This number does not
include the signatures of Gorran Movement (a Kurdish
opposition group with eight seats) and a Christian
party, Hussein said without naming the party. The
official said that this number of MPs has signed to
replace Maliki "but if inside the House of
Representatives they change their mind, this is
something else." As for the prospect of a meeting
between Maliki and Kurdistan's President Massoud
Barzani, Hussein said that through many
personalities Iraqi PM sends messages to Barzani
that he will enforce his promises and asks for
meeting with Barzani. "But I don't think that there
will be a meeting between Kurdistan's president and

Kobler visits Syrian
immigrants' camp in Kurdistan region
Duhok: UN representative to Iraq Marin Kobler
visited Wednesday Domeiz Camp where Syrian refugees
are dwelling. The camp is situation in Duhok
province, Kurdistan region. During the visit, Kobler
made the visit on the International Day for
Refugees. The United Nations sources said that the
camp's residents reached till 19 June instant to
1780 refugees, including 1400 comprising 250
families. Kobler declared that the residents of
Domeiz camp were supplied with the basic needs,
particularly for children. He confirmed that the
United Nations will continue its support. According
to UN refugees Organization and Immigrants
Department in Kurdistan, about 6000 person were
registered in the region, where it is expected that
about 1000 refugees will arrive monthly.

Kurdistan parliament needs
10 more days to approve budget
Erbil: Members of the Kurdistan Region's parliament
have been debating the region's 2012 budget for nine
days now and will probably need 10 more days to
finalize the process. MP Bashir Haddad said MPs have
been discussing reports from both the Ministry of
Finance and Economy and the parliamentary economic
committee over the last nine days and many
suggestions have been added to the budget bill.
Haddad added: "Both reports have been read and the
ministers of finance and planning answered the
comments and suggestions but parliament needs more
time to approve the 2012 budget." The ministries of
education, health, interior, finance and electricity
will all have big stakes in the 2012 budget, said
