Barzani and Maliki may not
meet soon, says Kurdish source
Duhok: An informed Kurdish source Wednesday ruled
out that a meeting will take place soon between the
Kurdistan Region's President Massoud Barzani and
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, as media
reports stated earlier. The anonymous source said:
"The media reports that spoke about the meeting seek
to create doubts among the parties seeking to
withdraw confidence from Maliki and his government.
“Parties in the State of Law Coalition (SLC) may be
behind the launch of such leaks where reports stated
earlier that a meeting will be held between Maliki
and Moqtada al-Sadr but this did not happen." Iraqi
and Kurdish media stated that many active political
figures are working to calm the situation by holding
a meeting between Barzani and Maliki while other
sources stated that the discussion is taking place
about the place for holding the meeting, indicating
that Barzani requested holding it in Erbil while
Maliki seeks to hold it in Baghdad.....
