CAIRO,— A member of the foreign relations
committee of the Kurdish National Council of Syria
on Tuesday met the official of the Syrian opposition
in the Arab League adviser Talal al-Amin to
participate in the preparatory committee for the
Syrian opposition conference.
The meeting was also held to coordinate the themes
that will be discussed during the conference on May
16 and 17.
Khair al-Dien Murad from the foreign relations
committee said: "The meeting stressed the need to
include the Kurdish issue within the themes that
will be discussed, as all opposition conferences
held outside the framework of the Arab League in
Tunisia or Turkey or France didn't discuss the
Kurdish issue despite the significant role played by
the Kurds in the Syrian revolution. [The Kurds]
still are with the revolution and defend their
rights.
"The Arab League understands the Kurdish issue and
the role of the Kurds in the region. The official of
the Syrian file in the Arab League assured on the
need to develop a good solution for the Syrian
Kurdish issue and find understandings with the rest
of the Syrian opposition parties,www.ekurd.net
including the Syrian National Council," added Murad.
He continued: "We'll submit a detailed report to the
members of the National Kurdish Council and the
other Kurds that didn't join the council in order to
develop a document for us to be submitted at the
conference to unify the Kurdish issue in the
conference."
Murad said he met a number of parties of the Syrian
opposition during his stay in Cairo, particularly
the National Action Front, and some opposing tribal
blocs. He said an understanding was reached about
the future of Syria.
