ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — The secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria Abdul Rahman Aluji died early this morning in Erbil's Oliver Hospital.

Aluji, 62, died at 4.00am after a bitter struggle with an incurable disease, said party representative Hozan Abdul Karim.

Aluji visited the Kurdistan Region a year ago to receive treatment for stomach cancer, added Abdul Karim.

The official's body will be transferred to his hometown in Syria today, Thursday.

The Kurdistan Region committee in the National Kurdish Council KNC will hold a mourning ceremony at Erbil's Jalil Khayat mosque.
