Over 3,000 Syrian Kurds register with
UNHCR in Iraq's Kurdistan Region

ERBIL-Hewlêr,
Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — So far 3,171 Syrian
nationals of Kurdish origin have registered with the
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
in the Kurdistan Region, according to a UNHCR
statement.
An estimated 10 to 15 families and 50 to 65
individuals continue to enter Duhok governorate
daily. About four to five families and 20
individuals approach UNHCR in Erbil for registration
weekly, added the statement.
In Sulaimaniyah, some 95 new arrivals have been
reported, including five families.
On May 3, the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed
dry food items to 292 families. Each family received
25kgs of rice, 10kgs of sugar, 5kgs of beans, 5kgs
of lentils, five liters of vegetable oil, five cans
of tomato paste, four bags of vermicelli and 1kg of
meat.
