ANKARA, (Ekurd.net), — “Plans for
possible military invasion of Northern Iraq were
long prepared, reviewed and could be executed in any
second, should need arise. if in case the overall
regional security situation exacerbates, or if
Kurdish Autonomous Government (KRG) refutes to
cooperate with us in wiping out PKK terrorist bases
holed up in that country, or if North of Iraq
declares unilateral independence, we will not remain
indifferent”, reveals Turkish former Chief of Staff
General Yasar Buyukanit, in a classified leaked
document posted on Turkey’s Ministry of National
Defense website which was immediately removed later.
The document further reveals that given Iraqi
Kurdistan’s Peshmarga military capabilities, it only
requires 6 Hours for the powerful Turkish Armed
forced to invade the entire North, and few weeks to
re-annex oil-rich Kirkuk and its surrounding towns
back into the map of Republic of Turkey.
The report also sheds light on a number of letters
exchanged between the Republic of Turkey and the
United States, expressing Ankara’s strong objection
to any sale or provision of highly advanced US-made
weapons or technology to the Kurdish Regional
Government.
