On Sunday, a demonstration was orchestrated by the
Turkish Organization of Human Rights and Solidarity
for Oppressed People (Mazlumder) in front of Israeli
Embassy in Ankara.
Politically motivated, this professed “Organization
of Human Rights” impugns the state Israel for its
defensive actions and portrays Israeli policies in
Gaza as “unacceptable and inhumane”.
“We aim to defend and support human rights for all
people without any discrimination and double
standards”, states the introduction page of
organization.
Some 20 million Kurds are marginalized and stripped
of their most fundamental cultural and linguistic
rights in Turkey. Turkey has carried out the worst
war crimes of its kind against an armless civilian
population both in the 19th (Armenians) and 20th
(Kurds) century. Kurdish political dissidents
continue to decompose in totally restricted state
detention facilities without any access to legal
aid.
Turkish unprecedented Human Rights violations are
undeniably on the rise. Freedom of religion and
expression is gradually becoming non-existent for
members of minority groups.
Many political activists have disappeared for years
just for daring to criticize government authorities
or its military institutions. Conversing and
educating in ones mother tongue is forbidden.
Innocent people fleeing persecution are regarded as
smugglers and bombed with F16s on border regions.
The territorial integrity and sovereignty of Iraqi
Kurdistan is constantly threatened by illegitimate
cross-border aggressions. All of these are
justified!
I could not confront a single quotation or reference
to any of these blunt Human Rights Violations
committed intentionally by the Republic of Turkey by
these so-called defendants of Human Rights
Organizations in Turkey.
A large number of Islamic organizations have
recently appeared in the false attire of Human
Rights groups, Democracy Promoters and NGOS,www.ekurd.net
trying to express their solidarity with the
Palestinian people. All of them are directly funded
by Erdogan’s neo-Islamist AKP party. These
politically biased institutions seem more concerned
about Human Rights Violations taking place in
irrelevant Gaza than inside the country (Turkish
Kurdistan). Soaring unemployment and poverty rate in
Turkish Kurdistan needs more Turkey’s attention than
an internal Palestinian-Israeli dispute.
Under the control and direction of Islamists
ideologues in Ankara, anti-Semitism and anti-Kurdism
has increased multi-fold in Turkey.
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Justice and
Development Party (AKP) has presided over a regime
which, according to the Pew Global Attitudes Survey,
is now the world’s most anti-American.
The flame of “Arab Spring” is spilling over all over
the world apart from Turkey. This is also reflective
of double-standard policies by global hypocritical
powers.
The 20 million Kurds in Turkey should no longer
believe in false democratic and constitutional
reforms by Turkish leaders, especially the
misleading Islamic-oriented Erdoğan regime.
Israel has uniformly sided with oppressed Kurds
versus tyrant dictators. It is time for Kurds to
corroborate their solidarity with the state of
Israel, especially in a time when Islamic extremism
and terrorism is growing to expand in the region.
