CALGARY
, — There are thousands of reasons that each ethnic community have to have their own association and the example of killing a Kurdish homeless in Montreal ( Mr. Farshad ) is one of them. I have been informed from the Kurdish community members do not know what to do with the body of Farshad who has been killed by police yesterday.

The reason that the community do not have plan for this crisis because still they do not have a united community association to protect their right or even what to when such things like this happen. Kurds have to rethink about the way they have been living in North America, yesterday a guy has been killed in Vancouver and Mexico. Now today there is one killed in Montreal. If you think close enough you would know what are the reasons that these event happened.

The first, reason in both cases is there was enough support form the community to these individuals to not let these event to prevented. Both been killed by polices one was according to the police report in Mexico was drug and gung related and these are community responsibilities to make sure that these type of ideas would not be getting to the community. The second,
www.ekurd.net case again the individual became homeless in Montreal. Everyone understand that homelessness is available in every city of Canada and USA but the reason of Farshad case is once again the community has not been strong enough to deal and discuss the situation to prevent to lead of killing.

Kurds have been having a very week community association in Canada and USA. Kurds have to relook at the way they create associations. These are few suggestions that I believe Kurds thinks about when building an association.

1. Association has to be build in a cultural bases far away from optical view because Kurds has never had their own country and that would divide Kurds as soon as start in a political way in any association they need to have.

2. Having association it does not means to have party and new year, or Newroz (they can be a small part) but not only celebration and dance, there are hundred of other important activities that need to be done practically such as having a Kurdish house, school, parenting, language, housing and recreations.

3. Kurds does not have their won country, it is important to think to build a strong association who would bring them together to have one voice because of their nationality situation.

4. Any association that need to be strong and stable have to be registered and has its own members not to have one which would only for few months or for one celebration.

Kurds are facing serious problems in North America, there might be worse and worse. Therefore, Kurdish community has to start from somewhere as positive as they can be and there has to use different mouthed of communication and stratagems to cope with the future of themselves and the future of their children.
