DUHOK, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government President Massoud Barzani is currently in Duhok. He has just concluded delivering his public address on recent developments looming in Baghdad as well as on ‘ Badinan tragedy’.

Barzani had earlier called for an urgent national conference to tackle with the perils confronting the political process in Iraq.

Following are some key points from his speech:

1- Kurdish youths do not appreciate the offered sacrifices to secure current gains in Kurdistan.

2- Alcohol consumption to be legit

3- Peaceful protest rallies inherent right of citizens.

4- “I am strongly opposed to setting buildings on fire”

5- Kurdish culture of tolerance is being transformed by extremists.

6- We will not emulate the culture of US, Canada, Tunisia, Egypt, etc.

7- Our struggle has always been a national one, one religious one.

8- Freedom of Expression should not exceed its designated boundaries. Some Independent Media outlets are mirroring distorted accounts which is affront to our struggle, Peshmargas, history, and past.

9- We will strive to arbitrate among the various political parties in Iraq. If no positive outcomes, we will try to minimize any possible marring to Kurdistan.

10- Should any party contravene the state laws, law enforcement agencies will severely deal with ‘em.
