Fazil Mirani, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic
Party KDP's politburo.
December
20, 2011
ERBIL-Hewlêr,
Kurdistan region 'Iraq', (ekurd.net), — The
head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party KDP's
politburo, Fazil Mirani, in ‘Safil’ Magazine: We
hold 30,000 armed Barzani men, they have forever
remained loyal, and they are primed to dedicate
their lives.
Fazil Mirani in an interview with ‘ Safil’ Magazine
observes,” I do not imply to make threats; however,
we hold 30,000 armed men just belonging to ‘ Barzani
Clan’ within our immediate reach, apart from those
who are the official members of Kurdistan Democratic
Party, apart from those being in Hawler [Erbil],
Badinan, Kirkuk, Sulaimaniyah and Garmiyan regions,
these 30,000 Barzani men are willing to sacrifice
their lives in any split second”.
Mirani denotes that his KDP party should be given
the credit for the current gains in Iraqi Kurdistan.
In another part of his speech, he opines: “KDP will
bear the brunt for the ‘attacks in ‘Badinan’ regions
and torching of Kurdistan Islamic Union headquarters
although KDP did not commit the act.
He goes on by saying, “Albeit It was not the
official policy of KDP, but we do admit that it was
some members of the party because ‘Badinan’ is under
the sphere of our rule.
These are the remarks of a senior KDP official
regarding the recent events in ‘Badinan’. The
interview can be read in its entirety in Kurdish
language Magazine: Safil
However, one should not be surprised or offended by
hearing such inflammatory observations from a PHD
holder from Howard University.
It sounds as if, Barzanis 30,000 fully armed men
outnumber Egyptian, Tunisian, Libyan or Iraqis Army,
the fourth largest in the world with more than a
hundred thousand Saddam’s Fadaeen.
