13 Massage centers closed in Iraqi

Measures taken against violating centers are not
related to the situation in Duhok, Mustafa Hama
Raheem says.

SULAIMANIYAH,
Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — Sulaimaniyah Province
announced, on Thursday, that 13 massage centers out
of 18 in the province were closed for violation of
work restrictions.
“Sulaymaniyah Tourism Directorate warned, on
November 20, owners of massage centers in the city
against breaking societies’ customs and traditions
and misusing them for different purposes,” head of
Sulaimaniyah Tourism directorate Mustafa Hama Raheem
told Alsumarianews. There are increasing complaints
about these centers becoming suspicious places,
Raheem stressed. |

“Tourism inspectors visited all 18 massage centers
in the province and discovered that 13 weren’t
committing to the directorate instructions,” Raheem
said. “Tourism Directorate closed these centers
until they abide by instructions,” he revealed.
“Measures taken against violating centers are not
related to the situation in Duhok,” Rahim assured.
A group of
rioters
attacked the local headquarters of the
Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) – an opposition
political party represented in the Kurdistan
Parliament in Duhok province of Iraqi Kurdistan on
December 2nd, and set several buildings on fire.
Thirty people including 20 policemen were reported
injured in the
rampage, which followed Friday midday prayers in the
town of Zakho.
Sulaimaniyah city is famous with Chinese massage
centers. Sulaimaniyah is often called the “Paris” of
Iraq for its vibrant cultural life and its wide
tree-lined boulevards. Known as the cultural capital
of Iraqi Kurdistan. It's the most secular city in
Kurdistan and Iraq.
Tourism Directorate issued new instructions to
regulate the work of massage centers in the city and
preserve Kurdish society’s customs and traditions,
Raheem told Alsumarianews in an earlier statement.
These instructions ensure that such centers are not
used for different purposes than the authorized,www.ekurd.net

The Tourism Directorate convened with massage
centers’ owners and distributed a 19 points list
regulating their work, Raheem explained noting that
the list stressed on the necessity to preserve
health and general interests.
