Al-Jazeera TV Channel's staff attacked in
Duhok in Iraqi Kurdistan

DUHOK,
Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — The Team of Al-Jazeera TV
Satellite Channel in northern Iraq's Kurdistan's
city of Duhok has been attacked while doing its duty
early on Saturday, following the incidents that took
place in the city on Friday, the Channel's Director
in Kurdistan Region reported.
"The (Kurdish) Security forces have attacked us
early today (Saturday), while we were shooting
photos of a place,
set on fire,
belonging to the Kurdistan Islamic Union KIU.
Two of our photographers were beaten for no reason,"
Ahmedal-Zawity told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

A group of
Pro-Kurdish government KRG rioters attacked the local headquarters of the
Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) – an opposition
political party represented in the Kurdistan
Parliament in zakho on
Friday and set several buildings on fire.
The city of Zakhu witnessed clashes between
civilians and the Anti-Revolt elements, wounding 11
civilians and 3 of the elements, following
demonstrations by about 2,000 persons.
They took to the streets following the Friday prayer
speeches in 4 mosques, calling for attacks against
shops selling alcohol and massage parlors, during
which over 25 alcohol shops and 2 massage parlors
were burnt.
Rioters attacked liquor stores, a massage parlour
and hotels after being stirred up by fiery sermons
in Zakho city.

Christian and Kurdish liquor shops and properties.
