BAGHDAD/ERBIL,
— Having a Kurdish president of Iraq is linked to
changes that could occur in the Iraqi political
arena, Kurdish Lawmaker Dr Mahmoud Othman said on
Sunday.
“The issue that the Kurdistan Alliance would keep or
give away the position of Iraq’s President is
subjected to discussions with other blocs,” Othman
told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He explained that the decisive point in this regard
are the coalitions tshat will be joined to form the
new government.
Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Roj Nuri
Shawais (Kurd) told the press last July that Kurdish
political blocs want an Iraqi Kurd to hold the
position of Iraq’s President.
