Kurds lose possible 6 Iraqi parliament

Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — The Kurdish lists
have lost a possible 6 Iraqi parliament seats in the
disputed regions, because the division among the
Kurdish lists.
According to Rudaw investigation, many Kurdish votes
from disputed regions and Baghdad the capital of
Iraq has been lost, especially from Gorran, Islamic
Komal and Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), due to
Kurdish separate lists.
In Diyala province so far the Kurdish alliance has
secured two seats, one each for Kurdistan Democratic
Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK),
but according to Ja'afer Iminki the Head of KDP's
election office.

"If all the
Kurdish lists were united, we would've gotten three
seats with a strong possibility of getting the
fourth one" he said.
According to some sources, in Kirkuk as well, up to
98 thousands of Kurdish votes has been lost, and
this has affected Kurdish overall result in the

according to Iraq High Election commission (IHEC),
the former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi list
"Al-Iraqiyaa" coalition is in front with 252
thousands votes and the Kurdistan Alliance is in
second position with 223 thousands votes.
"As a result of separate list by these four Kurdish
lists, Kurds has lost nearly 80 thousands votes and
non of them have gotten any seats, but if the Kurds
were one list, non of the Gorran, Komal and KIU
votes would have been lost and the Kurds would have
gotten 8 seats," Iminki added.
Meanwhile, In Baghdad and Salahaddin province, all
the Kurdish votes have been lost. "Again in Baghdad
and Salahaddin because of Kurdish detachment, we
haven't able to get any seats," Ja'afer Iminki
revealed.
Concerning Kurdish lost votes in disputed region,
the head of KDP's election bureau believes the
Kurdish lists made a mistake, by not becoming one
united list.
"It would've been better, if all the Kurdish parties
were united in one list in those disputed regions
and Baghdad" he stated.
