Turkish consul meet on ties
Erbil: President of Iraq’s Kurdistan Massoud Barzani
has met with the new Turkish consul in the region to
discuss means of boosting mutual relations, a
presidential statement said on Saturday. “Before
noon, Barzani received in the Salah al-Din resort
the new Turkish consul in the region on the occasion
of taking up office…,” according to the statement,
which was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The two officials have discussed the relations
between the Kurdistan region and Turkey.
Barzani has praised the role of the Turkish
ambassador in Iraq, calling on the consul to further
enhance bilateral relations with Iraq. aswataliraq

Kurdistan Parliament begins
new term
Erbil: The parliament of Iraq’s Kurdistan region
held a regular session today, marking the beginning
of its new legislative term after the end of its
winter recess.The session was confined to the
inaugural speech of Speaker Kamal Kirkuki, in which
he made reference to draft laws that had been
discussed during the previous term, as well as
others awaiting debate and approval by the council.
“There are many bills that had a first reading and
have been referred to parliamentary committees. The
Parliament will begin its new term with debates over
those bills…,” Karkouki said after the end of the

US children send gifts to
children of Kurdistan Region
Sulaimaniyah: Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) ,
Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs
announced that the US children have sent presents to
children in the Kurdistan Region via an
international organization.
It is for the third time that gifts from the US
children reach Kurdistan Region and are distributed
among the poor children in different parts of the
Region," Mariwan Naqshbandi said. The presents are
being sent by the Samaritan's Purse; International
Christian Humanitarian organization that is annually
delivering aids to around a million children
worldwide including the Kurdistan Region",
