Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — While the State of
Law Alliance of al-Maliki supports a new
presidential term of Jalal Talabani, the main rival
of Maliki doesn't.
Sami Askari of the State of Law Alliance told Rudaw
that they will make a decision after the final
election results. "Our list will for guarantee the
president post for one of the lists, where we form a
coalition with. It's not unrealistic that the
Kurdistan Alliance [KDP and PUK] will become one our
partners."
At the same time a spokesman of the Iraqi National
Alliance (INA) told Rudaw that the new president
post should be an Arab, so that Iraq could maintain
good relations with Arabic countries.
