A Kuwaiti National Assembly delegation
visits Kurdistan Parliament

ERBIL-Hewlęr,
Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — On September 29 a
delegation of the Kuwaiti National Assembly visited
Kurdistan Parliament and was warmly welcomed by the
Presidency of the Parliament, the guest delegation
conveyed the greetings of Mr. Jasim Al-Kharafi, the
Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker to the President
of the Kurdistan Parliament, and formally invited
Parliament’s President to head a high-ranked
delegation to visit the Kuwaiti National Assembly.
They expressed their admiration of the remarkable
developments that Kurdistan region has witnessed as
well as with regard to security and stability.
In the meeting, President of the Parliament pointed
to the commonalities between the Kuwaiti people and
the people of Kurdistan and Iraq,www.ekurd.netin
which the two peoples have suffered injustice and
suppression at the hands of Saddam Hussein's
dictatorship.

In another aspect of the
meeting, President of the Parliament pointed to the
importance of the delegation’s visit, hoped that the
other Arab countries will follow the State of Kuwait
in this regard and support the democratic process in
the Kurdistan Region and to develop relations with
the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole.
“the people of Kurdistan Region are willing to
establish better relations with the Arab and Muslim
countries and refuted all those claims by certain
Arab media that antagonize the democratic experiment
in Kurdistan Region through broadcasting untrue
reports that the Kurdistan people wish to secede”
stated Parliament’s President.
For their part, Members of the Kuwaiti National
Assembly expressed hope in the establishment of
direct flights between Erbil and Kuwait to
facilitate the visits of delegations, sports,
business and tourism between the two sides.
