New Iraqi vice premier will
be Fuad Mahsum
Now that Barham Salih is the new premier of the
Kurdistan region, MP Fuad Mahsun of the Patriotic
Union of Kurdistan will be the main candidate to
become the next Iraqi vice premier. This is what
Adil Berwari said, colleague of Fuad Mahsun in the
Kurdistan Alliance in the Iraqi parliament. He says
there is no official candidate yet, but this will be
announced by the new cabinet of the Regional
Government of Kurdistan (KRG) soon. Recently former
Iraqi vice premier Barham Salih resigned to become
the next Kurdish premier. There was speculation that
he would be replaced by Nechirvan Barzani (KDP), but
analysts say this is unlikely due to this limited
level of Arabic. Avesta Kurd reported that he might
take over the leadership of the KDP, because
president Massoud Barzani wants to focus on
different tasks.

Kurdistan produces green
electricity: Rudaw.net
The electricity ministry with the participation of
two internal and foreign companies intends to
produce electricity from Kurdistan using sun and
wind energy. But due to the absence of data, it’s
impossible now to decide about the project, says
Dlshad Shakr, consultant of the minister of
electricity. ˝We need 5 million dollars for only one
megawatt electricity through sun energy and wind,
for that we must collect data˝. Twelve places had
been selected in the Kurdistan provinces to collect
information about them by the Zagros Company and a
German company for producing electricity in these
places along the four seasons of the year through
sun energy and wind, and one and half a year had
been allocated for research. The consultant added
˝we can not decide that we can produce the
electricity from sun energy and the wind or not till
these data have been collected˝. He thinks it could
endanger the health of the Kurdish population. The
ministry has allocated 2 millions and 500 thousands
dollars for this research and the collection of
information. The ministry is confident that the
research will be completed at the mentioned
period....
