Iranian artillery resumes
bombing border villages of Kurdistan Region
A well-informed source told PUKmedia correspondent
“the Iranian artillery resumed bombing the areas of
Sangora, Kani Spay, Wiza Village, Kodo versant, Wara
Kork, Omer Khayat, Sebr Valley and Bardonaz, Choman
District in Erbil Province on late Monday and early
Tuesday.” “The people of these areas left their
houses and lands due to the heavy bombardment.
Casualties are still unknown”, the source added.
“The Iranian artillery bombed on Monday morning
several areas in Choman District. The bombed areas
are few kilometres from Choman District and Haji
Omran County. The bombardment was very heavy, where
100 cannonball hit these areas in only two hours”,
the source mentioned. Bearing in mind, the Iranian
artillery bombed the border villages of Kurdistan
region under the pretext of attacking PIJAK elements
hideouts in these areas.
Ten new members for PUK-leadership:

Sulaimaniyah: In October the PUK will hold a meeting
and will replace 10 members that formed Movement For
Democratic Change or RAG inside the Patriotic Union
of Kurdistan. The reform members say it’s a waste of
time. On 22 August 2009 members of PUK presidency
committee under the supervision of the Iraqi
president Jalal Talabani. An informed source of PUK
declared that 10 members of the reform wing will be
replaced. The RAG wing of PUK, tried to change the
PUK party from within. Mustafa Chawrash, member of
the PUK-presidency said that they will hold a
meeting in October. He explained that the reform
members who joined the change list (Gorran) will not
be invited. “We don’t invite persons who left our
party, so they cannot come to the meeting.” Chawrash
also confirm they will replace the members that
joined the Change list. Despite of the fact they
still see themselves of PUK. Jamal Muhammad, one of
the RAG-members, informed that ˝PUK suppose that it
drive out us, but this is illegal decision, let they
call us and give the decision at a presidential
meeting that we are presenting at it too˝. Jamal
doesn't think that the plenum will be the point of
renewing of PUK ˝this meeting is only the waste of
time˝.

Salih discuss formation of next Kurdistan Regional
Government
Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani on
Tuesday, August 25, 2009 met with Head of Kurdistan
List Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih and the members of
Kurdistan Parliament Sherwan al-Haidari and Suzan
Khala Shihab. At the meeting, they discussed the
post-elections stage and the work of the new
parliament and the formation of the next government
in Kurdistan Region. In a press conference following
the meeting, Dr. Salih highlighted the content of
the meeting he said: “We met today with Massoud
Barzani to discuss the next stage after the
conclusion of the elections; we listened to the
opinions and directions of the President of the
Region in order to implement the program of the
Kurdistani List, protect gains and reform inside
Kurdistan Regional Government.” “We presented
the vision of the Kurdistani List to the upcoming
stage; although the Kurdistani list won the majority
of parliamentary seats, but it sees the need to
involve all other parties to form the next
government and that all parties can participate if
agreed with program of the next government”, Dr.
Barham added.
