In articles that Mustafa
has written and interviews conducted with him, the
leader of the Change List has always emphasized that
the reason for leaving the Patriotic Union of
Kurdistan, PUK, was because of his different ideas
with the rest of the PUK leaders in terms of
governance.
But after meeting Mustafa, Schnakenberg has a
different view about the leader of the Change List,www.ekurd.net
“Mustafa's ideas are not
quite different from those of the PUK and the KDP,”
he said. “But in the method of his policy and the
working style there are differences. He wants to try
a different working style. We should wait to see how
successful he will be.”
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK),
led by Jalal Talabani, and Kurdistan Democratic
Party (KDP), led by Massoud Barzani.
The consul-general expects a positive change after
the parliamentary elections because he said that the
coming parliament will be different from the current
one.
Schnakenberg also noted that the final days ahead of
the elections are important based on his experience
of the elections in Germany.
"In Germany often the elections are determined in
the final stages. Therefore, the ten days before the
elections are crucial because the voters will make
their mind by then,” he said.
Concerning the position of the German
Consulate-General in case any violation occurs or
frauds in the elections, Schnakenberg said; "If we
noticed a considerable violation we will inform our
officials and we will report it to the European
Union. Then the Union will take it position.”
