The Islamic Union of Kurdistan will vote in favor of
the Kurdistan region Constitution that
was pass by the
Parliament on Wednesday, June 24, Khalil Ibrahim, a
member of Kurdistan Parliament on the Islamic Union
of Kurdistan, told Rudaw.
Islamic parties were against the draft of the
Constitution which recognized Islam as a source of
legislations. After meeting with the President of
Iraqi Kurdistan to talk about the issue,www.ekurd.net
sides were agreed that
Islam should be recognized as “a main source” of
legislations.
“There were unresolved some issues and we were in
negotiations about them with the committees (to
draft the constitution), the presidency of
Parliament, and (our) parties held meetings with the
President of Kurdistan region,” Ibrahim said. “The
changes were made and we agree to the changes and we
will votes yes for the Constitution.” |
