International Support Kurds in Syria Association –
SKS – would like the international community to
recognise that the Syrian Government uses the
interference of the State in the personal lives of
young political Kurds to intimidate them by:
• arresting them without charge;
• keeping them in confinement for long periods of
time;
• by obstructing their educational opportunities and
thereby their futures.
Bafel Ali Ahmed’s experience is another example of
the use of powers available under the Syrian State
of Emergency previously brought to public attention.
