STOCKHOLM, Sweden,
— The popular Kurdish singer Ardalan Bakir died on
October 10, at the age of 42, as a result of
diabetes. The relatively young singer from Erbil (Hawler)
passed away in the hospital of Stockholm.
Bakir lived for over 17 years in Sweden and was in
hospital for several weeks due to his deteriorating
health. A friend of the artist told Rudaw that Bakir
got more sick in June,www.ekurd.net
after
he gave a concert with the singer Mikail in Canada.
Ardalan Bakir released an new album "Xewnek Bû" (It
was a dream) this year. After living 15 years
abroad, he spent his last year for the first time
back in Iraqi Kurdistan. It is unclear whether
Ardalan Bakir's body will be buried in Kurdistan or
Sweden
