Zoroastrian Temple found in Sulaimaniyah

A temple of worshiping Zoroastrian religion was discovered in Serwan area in Darbandekhan district, Sulaimaniyah province. Mr. Kamal Nuri, the Director of Garmiyan Remnants Directorate indicated the discovery during an interview with the Kurdish “Kurdistani New” Newspaper, he said:” We are working for 3 months on reconditioning the temple. The work will be finished at the end of this year.”

He also added:” According to its map and remnants the temple belongs to the reign of the Sasani's during the role of King Kesra and King Nawsherwan the 1st who ruled during 590-628 AD. It’s worth mentioning that Sulaimaniyah Province Council allocated 366 million I.D to recondition the temple within 6 months.

1st Conference on School Sports Starts in Sulaimaniyah

The 1st Conference on School Sports started at the Hall of Culture in Sulaimaniyah province. The aim behind holding the conference is to discuss the ways of developing sports in the schools and to give more importance to its effects on the community.
The conference was attended by Mala Bakhtiyar, the Head of Kurdistan Olympic Committee, Dilshad Abdul Rahman, the KRG Minister of Education, Jutiyar Nuri, the Deputy of Sulaimaniyah Governor, Sheikh Hussein Mustafa, the Director General of Sulaimaniyah Education Directorate along with a number of educationalists and sports- concerning persons.

Turkman Fraternity Party Organizes Demonstration in Kirkuk

The Iraqi Party of Turkmen Fraternity organized a demonstration in front of headquarter of Kirkuk governorate. The demonstrators demanded that any component in the city should not be neglected particularly the Turkmen.
They also demanded the administration of Kirkuk to guarantee their rights and allocate seats for them in Kirkuk’s district Council.

Abdel Rahman Mustafa, the Governor of Kirkuk met the representatives of the demonstrators in his office. They asked him to vehicle their demands to the concerned authorities. They also expressed their dissatisfaction towards the decision of Kirkuk Fraternity List and the Iraqi Republican Group to form Kirkuk Province Council and allocating 6 seats of the Turkmen to Iraq’s Turkmen Front. They described the decision as isolation to the role of Turkmen People because the Turkmen Front doesn’t represent all the Turkmen of Kirkuk.

Killing One of the Border Guards Elements in Penjwin

Mala Ahmed Daskara, commander of Border Guards Forces in Sulaimaniyah Province told PUKmedia website “one of our patrols was exposed to an unintentional ambush of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces near Kani Khan Village, Penjwin District."
Daskara added "The Ambush resulted in killing Faiq Fattah (30 years), one of the patrol’s elements. Investigations are going on to know the facts."
