BAGHDAD, – A bomb hit a motorcade carrying
Iraq's first lady through Baghdad on Sunday.
The motorcade bombing in Baghdad's Karrada district
injured four of Hero Ibrahim Ahmed's bodyguards but
left her unharmed,www.ekurd.net
according to the office of her husband, President
Jalal Talabani.
Four bodyguards were wounded when an explosive
charge attack targeted the motorcade of Iraqi
President Jalal Talabani's spouse in Baghdad on
Sunday, according to a presidential statement.
"One of the vehicles protecting Hero Ibrahim Ahmed
was damaged by an explosive charge blast on Sunday
morning while she was heading for the Baghdad
National Theater to attend the 6th Cultural Festival
of al-Mada," AP reported.

It
was unclear if she was the target or if the bombing
was random.
An Iraqi police source had said four people,
including an army soldier, were wounded when an
improvised explosive device (IED) went off near an
army patrol in central Baghdad.
"A roadside IED detonated near the National Theater
building in central Baghdad when an Iraqi army
patrol was driving by. Four, including a patrol man,
were wounded," said the source.
"Security forces sealed off the area while
ambulances rushed the wounded to a nearby hospital
for treatment," he added.
