SULAIMANIYAH, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',--
Iraq's President Jalal Talabani will meet with a
delegation from Turkey's pro-Kurdish Democratic
Society Party (DTP) in Sulaimaniyah in
semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in 'northern Iraq'.
The delegation headed by DTP Parliamentary Group
Chairman Ahmet Turk also includes two DTP officials.
The DTP asked for an appointment from Talabani
nearly four months ago but has managed to get the
appointment now. Sources said Talabani did not see
it fit to meet the delegation as Turkey's relations
with the Iraqi Kurds were going through a chilly
period.
Turkey started a dialogue with the Iraqi Kurds last
week when a senior Turkish
delegation met with Kurdistan
Regional Government's Prime Minister Nechirvan
Barzani in Baghdad. |

Talabani reportedly felt
under these circumstances it would be wise to meet
the DTP delegation and brief them about the new
dialogue with Turkey.
The DTP delegation will also travel to Erbil,www.ekurd.net
the Iraqi Kurdistan's
capital and meet officials from the Kurdistan
Regional Government and possibly Kurdistan president
Massoud Barzani.
