7 suspected gunmen arrested in

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region 'Iraq, -- A
joint Iraqi-U.S. force arrested seven suspected
gunmen, including two wanted persons, in the
district of Makhmour, 70 km southwest of Erbil, an
Iraqi army source said on Tuesday.
"An Iraqi 4th Brigade force, backed by
Multi-National Force (MNF) troops, conducted a raid
on villages of Makhmour district, capturing seven
suspects, including two wanted men," the source, who
asked not to have his name mentioned, told Voices of
Iraq.
Makhmour is one of the areas subject to
administrative dispute between the provinces of
Erbil and Mosul.
Erbil, the capital city of the autonomous Iraqi
Kurdistan region, lies 349 km northeast of Baghdad.
