UK: Iraqi Kurd accused of stabbing a
Polish man

CARLISLE, UK, -- An Iraqi Kurd accused of
stabbing a Polish man in Carlisle has been remanded
in custody until June.
Rebaz Karim, 22, was arrested on Good Friday after a
31-year-old Pole suffered a stab wound to the
abdomen at a flat in Warwick Road.

Currock, appeared before
city magistrates Monday charged with unlawful and
malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous
bodily harm. He spoke through an interpreter only to
confirm his name, age and address.
Karim, who was represented by Penrith solicitor
Geyve Walker, was remanded to appear at Carlisle
Crown Court on June 2.
The injured man underwent emergency surgery at
Calrisle’s Cumberland Infirmary.
His condition is said to be stable and he is
expected to make a full recovery.
