Italian Media Center Participates in 20th
Anniversary of Commemorating Halabja Chemical Attack
Babil -Maad Italian media Center for establishing
peace among World Nations, converging world culture
and taking care of youth participated in the 20th
anniversary of commemoration of Halabja chemical
bombardment at Sulaimani University.
Regarding that, the head of the centre has told
PUKmedia that they are working for the world
massacres like Halabja and try to familiarize the
world with them.
She also said that all their contacts are with
youth, particularly in that ceremony held at
Sulaimani University where most of its participants
are youths. She said youths are the origins of all
developments; therefore she came to Kurdistan region
to establish a bridge of cooperation and work with
the youth of Kurdistan region and the youth of
Halabja in particular.
Earthquake Hit Sulaimaniyah, No Casualties or
Damage Reported
on Monday, a 3.8 Richter-scale earthquake hit
Sulaimaniyah city, as the Director of Meteorology
and Seismology Office in Sulaimaniyah Dara Hassan
told PUKmedia. As Hassan said, the earthquake did
not cause casualties or damage to property.
World Conference of Mayors for Peace in
Sulaimaniyah
The Hiroshima-based World Conference of Mayors for
Peace through Inter-city Solidarity, which started
its work in Raparen (Uprising) Hall in Sulaimaniyah
University Monday, has called upon the UN and the
international community to bring to justice those
companies and persons who sold chemical weapons to
the ousted Baath dictatorship regime.
The Special Envoy of Hiroshima city, Paul Devitor,
said “We ask the World Conference of Mayors for
Peace to cooperate with the municipalities of Iraq
and Kurdistan region, there are many treaties signed
by the UN against the production and the spread of
chemical weapons, this was mainly was because of the
Halabja massacre and those people who provided the
Baath regime with chemical weapons should be brought
to justice.”
Mufti: We are Not with Forcible Deportation of
Kurdish Asylums Seekers in Europe
Speaker of the Kurdistan Region National Assembly,
Adnan Mufti, met Tuesday with a delegation of the
International Federation of Iraqi Refugees.
The condition of forcible deportation of Kurdish
asylums seekers in Europe to Kurdistan region was
discussed during the meeting where the Speaker of
the Kurdistan Region National Assembly reiterated
that they are not with such policy, saying he told
that fact to the visiting EU delegation to Kurdistan
region recently.
He also said that he asked Kurdish asylum seekers to
be treated humanely and that the Kurdistan region is
not capable of receiving these asylum seekers. Mufti
told the delegation to continue in their struggle so
that their issue may not reach a stage that the
Kurdish asylums seekers to be deported compulsorily.
