KRG to Compensate Victims of Terrorist Explosion
in Sulaimaniyah
The Kurdistan regional government (KRG) will
compensate the victims of the terrorist explosion in
front of the Sulaimaniyah Palace Hotel Monday
evening.
The official spokesman of the PUK politburo, Mala
Bakhtiyar indicated on hearing the news of the
terrorist attack, the PUK politburo issued a
statement condemning the attack and demanding the
KRG to compensate the victims’ .He also said that
the KRG agreed to compensate them.
Sulaimaniyah Car Bomb Came from Kirkuk
Half an hour before the explosion, we went to the
Sulaimaniyah Palace Hotel on a security related
mission and then a car bomb exploded in front of the
hotel, brigadier Hassan Nouri, Director of
Sulaimaniyah Security (ASAISH) exclusively told
PUKmedia Tuesday.
The car bomb came from Kirkuk and the investigations
are ongoing, he added.
Director of Sulaimaniyah Security also expressed his
confidence on finding those behind the terrorist
attack indicating Sulaimaniyah security plan is
fortified and broadened.
Voice of Russia Assigned Director for Kurdish
Edition Program
The head of Voice of Russia Radio decided to assign
Bashir Sabri as the director of Kurdish edition
program of the radio.
In the next few days, he takes on his post. Voice of
Russia, which was established in 1929, has
broadcasted its program in 31 languages. It daily
airs its Kurdish edition program from 20:00 to 21:00
(local time).
Bashir is a Syrian Kurd who has been living in
Russia for 40 years. He initially graduated from a
political party institute. Later he became a teacher
for Arabic for four years, and he worked with
Uzbekistan Magazine for a period. He served in the
Uzbekistan Radio for 11 years. He was earned a PHD
degree from Soviet Institute for Oriental Studies in
Moscow. The subject of his PHD paper is about the
history of the contemporary Kurdish movement.
President Talabani Makes a Speech in the Arab
Parliamentarian Conference
The Arab Parliamentarian Union Conference started
its working Tuesday in Erbil city.
On this occasion, the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani
made a speech to welcome the conference’s guests,
and expressed his hope for the conference to
success. President Talabani also emphasized his
support to the Arab people strife, and added that
Iraq will remain on its commitment towards Arabs.
KRG Discusses Steps of Implementing Article 140
Nechirvan Barzani headed a KRG meeting to discuss
the measures and activities of the Committee of
Article 140 of Iraqi Constitution. The meeting was
also attended by Mr. Omer Fatah, the KRG Deputy PM
and Dr. Muhammad Ihsan, the KRG Minister of
Extra-Regional affairs.
The meeting clarified the sections of Article 140
and the work of the committees in order to implement
it. They also discussed the KRG collaboration and
support, which led to solve the committee’s
obstacles.
