Number of Mayors from Turkey’s Kurdistan

Massoud Barzani, President of Kurdistan Region met
Wednesday in Salahalddin resort with head of
Diyarbakir, Othman Baydemir, one of Turkey's most
popular Kurdish politicians and the mayor of Diyarbakir,
the main city in the Kurdish-majority southeast of
Turkey and Bayazed mayor Maqdis Qublani, Shirnakh
mayor Ahmed Artash and Bait al-Shabab mayor Faiq
Dorson. President Barzani welcomed his guests.
The guests expressed their happiness to visit
Kurdistan Region, and their participation in the
20th anniversary of Halabja and the International
Municipalities Conference. |

The guests also
expressed their hope to establish continuous ties
between the Turkey and Kurdistan municipalities.
President Barzani thanked the guests for their
stance, and hoped for the relations between
Kurdistan and Turkey municipalities to start a new
stage.
Dr. Adnan Mufti president of the Kurdistan national
assembly Thursday met with Mayor Baydemir in the
presence of Dr. Kamal Kerkuki Vice President of the
National Assembly and a delegation from Kurdistan of

included both Mr. Osman
Baydemir Mayor of the city of Diyarbakir, Ahmet
Artak Mayor of Shernak and Mokadas Kublai Mayor of
Bayezid and Fayk Dulsson Mayor Bet Alshabab.
In a meeting attended by Abdullah Erez Chairman of
the relations Committee of the Parliament of
Kurdistan, Osman Baydemir stated that he was pleased
to visit the Region of Kurdistan to participate in
the commemoration of the twentieth anniversary of
the tragedy of Halabja and the municipalities
conference held in the city of Sulaimaniyah.
Then an exchange of views on how to resolve
differences between the Region of Kurdistan and,
Turkey and the consolidation of bilateral relations
between the two sides at all levels. For his part,
President of the Parliament of Kurdistan emphasized
the importance to resolve outstanding problems
through political dialogue,www.ekurd.net
peace, understanding and
mutual respect.
While Osman Baydemir described the Kurdistan
experience as a victory for all parts of Kurdistan
and said that the success of the Government and the
Parliament of Kurdistan Region is a success and
