Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region 'Iraq, -- Dr John Thomas, head of “Surgery is hope” Organization in Texas and Dr Ghazi Zebari, a Kurdish-Iraqi sergeant arrived to Kurdistan from the United Sates on a medical mission that consists of carrying out surgeries and conducting trainings to local doctors in Erbil,
www.ekurd.net Duhok and Sulaimaniyah hospitals following advanced science in fields of endoscope and kidney transplant.

The surgeons have carried out 25 kidney transplant surgeries using endoscope in Duhok while they are expected to conduct between 7 and 10 surgeries in Erbil. The mission of Thomas and Zebari will be restricted in Kurdistan autonomous region in northern Iraq for security reasons. Dr Zebari hoped they could accomplish their medical mission on a yearly basis.

It is to be mentioned that 618 workers in the medical field including 132 doctors passed away around Iraq since the US invasion, according to reports by Iraq’s health Ministry while thousands of medical workers flew the country since then.
