Kurdistan to ratify constitution soon

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', --
Speaker of Iraq’s Kurdistan region Adnan Mufti said
on Monday that the parliament will ratify the
region’s constitution and other important laws
during the current legislative term.
“There are several laws that need to be discussed
and approved, mainly the region’s constitution draft
law,” Mufti said in his work opening the new
legislative term.
“There are other important issues wait to be
discussed; financial supervision,www.ekurd.net

law, the environment protection law, the
journalistic work law,” he added. |

The session was attended by Kurdish President
Massoud Barzani, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mahmoud
al-Mashhadani, his deputy Khaled al-Attiya and other
senior lawmakers, who arrived in Erbil to attend the
Arab parliamentary Union meetings, due on Tuesday
for three days.
Erbil, the capital of the autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan
region, lies 349 km northeast of Baghdad.
