Delegation of Ministry of Tourism and
Archaeology in Kurdistan

Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan Region 'Iraq',--
Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Archaeology, Mohammed
al-Uraiby, said on Monday that a delegation from his
ministry will visit Iraq's Kurdistan region to find
mechanisms of mutual cooperation with the regional
Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology there.
"There will be a chain of mutual meetings to
cooperate and coordinate in the fields of tourism
and archaeology in Iraq," al-Uraiby told VOI,
referring that the delegation includes a group of
experts and counselors.
From his side, Namroud Betho Yokhana, regional
minister of tourism and archaeology in Kurdistan,
said that the visit of the delegation came to
reinforce mutual relations aiming to develop tourism
and protect archaeology in Iraq.
"We hope that we can achieve mechanisms to protect
our archaeological heritage," Yokhana said.
Dr. Amira Edan,www.ekurd.net
a member of the
delegation, said "Around 15 thousand archaeological
pieces have gone missing from the Iraqi Museum. Only
roughly four thousand of them have been retrieved,"
asserting "Few neighboring countries cooperated with
us in this respect."
