Large commercial bank to be
established in Kurdistan region
To enhance investment sector in the Kurdistan
region, it is expected that a large commercial bank
to be established recently by Falatris companies
group supported by Swiss Companies. Head of the
Kurdistan Region Union Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Dara Jalil Khayat told PUKmedia that a
high-ranking delegation from the Falatris companies
group visited the Kurdistan region for establishing
a large commercial bank, studying all aspects of the
proposed project with the Kurdistan region Chamber
of Commerce and Industry’s Council in a meeting.
“There are 15 private banks in the Kurdistan region.
Some of these banks are main branches and the rest
are branches of giant banks in Baghdad and Basra,”
Khayat said.
Greek deports 14 Kurdish
asylum seekers to Erbil
Greek authorities have deported 14 Kurdish asylum
seekers to Erbil on Wednesday following the killing
of a Greek policeman by a network of Kurdish
traffickers in human, PUKmedia correspondent
reported.
Currently Kurdish asylum seekers in Greece live in
deteriorating conditions; Greek police arrests them
and deports them to Jordan then to Erbil.
KRG Premier Office denies
invitation to visit Turkey
Serbaz Hawrami, the head of KRG Premier Office , in
an exclusive statement to the Kurdistan Region
Government website, denied that the KRG Premier
Nechirvan Barzani has received a formal invitation
to visit Turkey. It’s worth mentioning that the
Turkish Ikhlas agency said according to the KRG
Spokesperson Jamal Abdullah, the Turkish foreign
minister Ali Babacan dispatched a formal invitation
through the Turkish Consul in Mosul to the KRG
Premier to visit Turkey. Mr. Abdullah in a phone
call with PUKmedia denied giving statements to any
media channel.
KRG Planning minister urges
Jayka agency to accelerate projects implementation
The KRG minister of planning Othman Shwani met with
Tanaka Ozomi, the advisor of the The Japanese
International Cooperation Agency (Jayka).
During a meeting, they discussed the relations of
Jayka with Kurdistan Region Government. Minister
Shwani thanked Jayka agency and emphasized the
necessity of accelerating the implementation of the
projects within the Japanese loan. He also pointed
out to the KRG’s concern to the health sector and
called upon the agency to help the region to improve
and change the health system in Kurdistan.
Yazidis refuse Supporting
Councils
Yazidis across Iraq refused forming of Supporting
Councils, calling on their areas to be annexed to
the Kurdistan region since they are vital component
of Kurdish nation. Khairy Shangaly, an Yazidi
intellectual and writer, stressed this news to
PUKmedia correspondent and said that Yazidis always
confirm that they belong to Kurdish nation, sharing
with Kurdish culture, geography, and religion.
“They don’t have any problem in the Kurdistan
region, and they are against forming Supporting
Councils,” he added.
Turkish jetfighters hit
Nero and Rican border areas
Turkish jetfighters bombed a number of villages in
Nero and Rican areas in Amedi district, Duhok
province Tuesday. The damages are unknown yet.
Bearing in mind, the Turkish artillery and
jetfighters intermittently bomb the border areas in
Kurdistan region under the pretext of targeting the
PKK.
Erbil…Seminar on NGOs role
in combating violence against woman
In the framework of the Iraqi-Kurdistani
non-violence group activities, the network of the
non-governmental organizations (IKNN) held a seminar
on the role of the NGOs in combating and lessening
violence against women.
In the seminar, the activist in woman and human
rights in Kurdistan region and a member in the
Kurdish (ASK) organization Huda Saber emphasized the
importance of raising the awareness of the citizens
in order to put an end to all kinds of violence
against woman. The seminar was sponsored by the
office of the KRG minister of civil society affairs
George Mansur.
