LONDON, UK,— Potential 'honour killing'
victims could be offered new identities under new
police guidelines.
The Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) said
everyone must understand the life-threatening danger
those caught up in "honour" rows faced.
Forces should review witness protection arrangements
so victims could be offered new identities and
relocation even if they did not give evidence in
court.
The recommendations came in the first strategy for
tackling honour-based violence across England,www.ekurd.net
Wales and Northern
Ireland.

said up to 12 people were murdered every year in the
