Kurdish Bloc resorts to President’s Veto if %17
budget allocation to Kurdistan region failed
It is expected that the Iraqi Council of
Representatives dedicates Monday’s session to settle
the allocation of Kurdistan region budget in Iraq
revenue. The Spokesman of Kurdistan Alliance Bloc,
Firyad Rawanduzi, announced that if the Iraqi
parliament fails to allocate 17 percent of Iraq
budget to Kurdistan region, then the Bloc resorts to
President Talabani to veto it.
PUK’s Representative Denies Agencies Reports
News agencies re-published old news about PUK’s
representative in Sweden Mr. Burhan Habib. These
news said that the Swedish Emigration Department has
dismissed Mr. Habib for accusing him to be a spy for
the Kurdish refugees to serve his government and his
party. In an interview with PUKmedia correspondent
in Stockholm, Mr. Habib said “I surprised when this
news has been published again. This matter has
happened in July 2007, and was first published in a
Turkmen site. Today, once more I deny this news as I
did in July.”
“What have been published in the Swedish Media is
that I have helped the Kurdish refugees, and the
word “spy” wasn’t mentioned. The hidden hands have
either forged the news, or they do not know the
Swedish language. I have done my duty in helping my
pupil and showing the truth of their requests. Once
again I say that the Spy word wasn’t mentioned in
any Media. I don’t know from where they brought this
word”, he added.
Dr. Mohammed Ihsan Meets the British Ambassador
Dr. Mohammed Ihsan, the minister of Areas Abroad the
Region and the member of Article 140 Supreme
Committee met with the British ambassador to Iraq
Mr. Christopher Rost and the British Consul in
Kurdistan Mr. Bell Dixon.
They discussed the issue of implementing Article
140, causes of its postponing and the ways for
solving its technical problems. The British
ambassador emphasized the development of Kurdistan
Region in the economic and political fields, and the
future of Kurdistan in Iraq’s map.At the end of the
meeting, Dr. Mohammed Ihsan welcomed his quests and
wished them well residence.
Constructing Electricity Station in Duhok
Duhok Governor Mr. Tamur Ramadan has received
yesterday a delegation from KRG Ministry of
Electricity headed by its undersecretary Mr. Dilshad
Mohammed and a representative of the International
Company for Construction Engineering.
They discussed in the meeting the activities of the
international company to construct a 400 MW
electricity power station in Duhok Province. Duhok
Governor emphasized full support for the company to
build this station.
It’s worth mentioning that the company has signed a
contract with KRG Ministry of Electricity to
construct a power station with a capacity of 400 MW.
200 MW is going to be produced this year and the
remaining amount will be done by next year.
President Talabani met Kirkuk Turkmen
The Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, arrived in
Kirkuk on Wednsday. He is expected to stay in Kirkuk
for few days to hold a series of meetings with
representatives of all the ethnical components of
the city.
As a start, President Talabani met with the Turkmen
from Bashir village and the city, during the meeting
which was attended by the Head of Kirkuk Provincial
Council, Rizgar Ali, his Excellency asserted
strengthening the historical relations among the
components and the pending issues related to Kirkuk.
