USAID Organizes Qualifying Courses in Kurdistan
Region

USAID in collaboration with the Plan Ministry in KRG
organizes Qualifying Courses in business management
and making contracts for the advanced governmental
cadres in a number of ministries in Kurdistan
Region. The courses will be persisted till January
31, 2008 in Erbil, Sulaimaniyah and Duhok. Experts,
Specialists and University Teachers In business
management, field command, administrative and
economy communication, contracts and projects
management and styles of field pursuit will
participate in giving the lectures.
Barham Salih arrives in Netherlands
Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih the Deputy of Iraqi PM
arrived in Netherlands on Sunday, in an official
visit for several days. It’s decided to meet the
Dutch Prime Minister to discuss the bilateral
relations and Netherland’s support to Iraq. Dr.
Barham Salih will represent Iraq in an important
conference on Economy in Netherlands and will meet
the Iraqi community representatives there to discuss
the political and economic situation in Iraq in
addition to the Iraqi’s life conditions abroad.
KRG Delegation Arrives in Baghdad
KRG delegation headed by the minister of Natural
Resources Dr. Ashti Hawrami has arrived in Baghdad
to discuss the issues of the oil contracts and Oil
and Gas Law. A close source to the delegation said
that it is going to meet with the officials in Oil
Ministry and the Ministers Council of the Federal
Government. The source also said that the American
Department of State Secretary assistant for oil
affairs Mr. Robin Jeffery will attend the meetings
to solve the problems between the Federal government
and Kurdistan Region government.
KRG Signs a Contract with an American Company
Kurdistan regional government (KRG) announced that
it has signed a contract with an American Company to
spread for the Investment Law, which has been
decided by the Iraqi Kurdistan National Assembly in
2006. KRG Minister of Trade Mohammed Raoof said to
DPA news agency that a contract has been signed with
Intera Solutions Company to spread for the
investment law in Kurdistan Region.
Kurdish People Have Rights: Sistani
In Ashura Ceremony, His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani
the Higher Religious Source issued a letter to
Kurdistan Region People. About the contents of this
letter, Sheikh Radii al-Temimi ,Sistani’s
Representative in Sulaimaniyah stated to Kurdistani
New news paper and said “His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Husseini
al-Sistani the Higher Religious Source told me: when
you go to Kurdistan Region, tell our brothers there
to be unified and to know that they have rights must
be gained, to elect who serves them and to raise
their families according to the directions and a
advises in the sacred and scientific books as (Nahij
al-Balagha).”
“Tell them Sunni Muslims are not just our brothers
but they are undivided part from us” Sheikh Radii
al-Temimi said that His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani
recommend me to carry this message to both Sunnis
and Shiite in Kurdistan Region.
IOPEN System links KRG Ministries
On Sunday a three week-training course started for
IT specialists of eight KRG ministries. A system,
which is called “Iopen KRG”, is going to be taught
in the course, aiming at linking all KRG ministries
together which helps better facilitating among them.
The setup of the system is cooperated by Italian
government, in case any problems occur in any
computer of KRG offices, it will be solved online,
even if it’s not solved in Kurdistan region, it can
be sorted out in Italy online. Previously, a KRG
delegation participated in a course held in Italy to
get acquainted with the system, currently another
staff is trained during this course to install and
work on the system in all KRG ministries.
Building Oil Refinery in Sulaimaniyah
Mr. Zana Mohammed Salih, Sulaimani District
Commissioner discussed in a press conference today
the fuel problem in Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region and
the Province’s share from fuel. He also discussed
the issue of distributing the Citizen’s oil
allocation which is 220 Litres for each family.
“KRG has a program within the oil contracts to build
an oil refinery and new oil tanks after solving a
few technical problems with Oil Ministry in the
Federal Government, we have supplied the areas which
witnessed a heavy Snowfall as Chwarta , Qalaat Deza,
Penjwin and other border areas” Mr. Zana Mohammed
added
Supplementary Budget allocated to Kurdistan
Region
An official source from Iraqi finance ministry
announced that in case the Iraqi oil revenues rise
due to climbing the price of oil crude in 2008,
supplementary budget is allocated to Kurdistan
region by 17 percent. The Iraqi deputy finance
minister, Fazil Nabi, told exclusively Kurdistani
Nwe newspaper that “In case the Iraqi budget ratio
rises and the supplementary budget is not specified
in the next months, it will be delayed for 2009. In
this case 17 percent of that supplementary budget is
allocated to Kurdistan region.”
Kurdish 3D Animated Cartoon Movie produced
A Kurdish producer, Zardasht Muhammad, has made the
best 3D animated cartoon movie ever produced on
African and Asian level.
Zardasht exclusively said that the movie, which cost
€ 25000, is 90 minutes length and completed in 2007.
“I produced the film by myself; nobody assisted me
except PA Swedish Co. for producing film. Such kind
of movie has produced only in U.S.A and Europe. It’s
colored with Kurdish proverbs and classical
speeches; I tried to attract Kurdish kids’ attention
to open their eyes to realize how invaders try to
conquer our land.” The movie ends with a
sentence reads “when war is over, Kurdish home will
be rehabilitated.”
