Iraqi national flag to fly over all
regions in Kurdistan

The spokesman for the president of Kurdistan
affirmed the regional decision to fly the new Iraqi
national flag in the area amid other political
reforms.
Foad Hussein told the Al-Sumaria Iraqi satellite
television station Thursday the new Iraqi national
flag will be displayed through all regions in the
Kurdish area.
Parliament approved a new flag design removing
Saddam Hussein's handwriting and three green stars
symbolizing the Baath party platform in a majority
decision Tuesday.
The Sunni MP Nasir al-Ani confirmed that his Sunni
coalition party, Iraqi Accord Front, engaged the
central government on reinstating several Cabinet
members who resigned recently. |

"Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani decided not to
raise the old flag with three stars,www.ekurd.net
because thousands of
Kurds were killed under this flag and asked the
Iraqi parliament and government to change it,"
Mohammad Mulla Qader said earlier this week.
Iraq's Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani demanded
the parliament to hold a special session to take a
decision on raising the new Iraqi flag in Kurdistan
region, the head of Barzani's office said on
Thursday.
"The president urged the Kurdish parliament on
Wednesday to hold a special session on raising the
new flag in the region," Fouad Hussein said.
