Kurdistan official claims US-Iraqi talks
on drastic change in Iraq governance

An Iraqi Kurdish official said here Tuesday US
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had met Iraqi
leaders on drastic changes in the shape of Iraqi
governance.
Kurdistan Regional Cabinet Secretary Fouad Hussein
said the Kurdistan Region chairman had visited
Baghdad at the top of a Kurdish delegation to meet
Rice, who had just been on a visit to Iraq.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Iraqi
President Jalal Talabani and two vice-presidents
Tareq Al-Hashemi and Adel Abdel-Mahdi, they mulled
over several significant issues,www.ekurd.net
mainly the political
process in Iraq.
The four-party meeting also touched upon genuine
participation in the Iraqi government,
decision-making and management of Iraqi federal
government affairs, he said.
They also considered considerable changes in the
shape of Iraqi governance in a way that should
reflect the actuality of all Iraqi forces, he added.
Outstanding problems between the Iraqi government
and Kurdistan Regional government were also thrashed
out at the meeting.
Rice, Talabani, Barzani discuss differences with
Baghdad govt
Visiting US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and
the President of Iraq's Kurdistan region Massoud
Barzani discussed in Baghdad on Tuesday some
differences between the Kurdish and the Baghdad
governments, official sources said.

developments of the
political process in Iraq dominated a meeting for
Rice with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Vice
Presidents Tarek Al-Hashemi and Adel Abdul-Mahdi.
Barzani also attended.
The sources did not reveal the details of either
meetings but hinted it tackled article 140 of the
Iraqi Constitution on the situation in Kirkuk and
the dispute between the two governments over oil
contracts in addition to the political developments
and the possible return of withdrawn ministers to
the government.
Earlier the US State Secretary met with Prime
Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and her Iraqi counterpart
Hoshyar Zibari with whom she would address a news
conference later on Tuesday.
