Understanding Memorandum Signed Between (MSF) and
Both KRG Ministries of Health and Planning
Both KRG Ministers of Health and Planning signed an
Understanding Memorandum with Doctors Without
Borders organization - Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
on Wednesday.
The memorandum aims at setting up an emergency and
surgery unit in Sulaimani emergency hospital . The
unit is for receiving casualties of emergency
accidents, at the same time it treats burning,
beautification, bone breaks cases’. It also to open
training courses for Kurdistan region’s health
officials and importing necessary drugs. During the
meeting which was attended by Dr. Naema al-Kaseer,
head of Doctors Without Borders Organization office
in Kurdistan region, both Dr. Ziryan and Mr. Othman
Shwani, Both KRG Ministries of Health and Planning,
expressed their happiness for her attendance and
cooperation for Kurdistan region and expressed full
support of their ministries to (MSF).
Concerning Article 140, Administrative Work to
End
Mrs. Narmin Othman deputy head of High committee for
the implementation of article 140 told (Kurdistani
Nwe) that administratively, Kurdistan Region
Government work is to finish.” There are no problems
except that of statistics that are related to Iraqi
Ministry of Planning.” She said.
Narmin explained that there is no formal decision to
postpone Article 140. Even we try hard to implement
works unfinished and our next committee meeting will
be on October 1st.
The Next Five Years to Come, Electronic
Government System will Be Installed
A protocol will be signed between Regional
Government and consultative company of (Price Water
House Coopers), according to a project an electronic
government system will be installed in Kurdistan.
The purpose behind the project is transformation
from a government using papers to a government that
works through networks. The company that has 140,000
experts will be working for five years putting
government works on Internet. Botan Mahmud, son of
the Kurdish legislator Mahmud Othman, director of IT
office said the company will introduce its report
details on the plan to the government next month.”
The implementation of the work is a step towards
eradicating corruption”, he said.
Speaker of Kurdistan Region Parliament Receives
Dr. Ashraf Khadi
Speaker of Kurdistan region parliament, Mr. Adnan
Mufti, received Dr. Ashraf Khadi, the former
representative of the UN general secretary in Iraq,
who on occasion of ending his duties in Iraq vested
Kurdistan region. Dr. Ashraf Khadi thanked Kurdistan
parliament during a meeting attended by Mr. Dindar
Zebari, KRG representative in UN, for their support
in his previous visits to Kurdistan region. Speaker
of Kurdistan region parliament then appreciated the
role of Dr. Ashraf Khadi who honestly served the
people of Kurdistan and Iraq hoeing that his
successor to do the same.
Concerning article 140 Dr. Ashraf Khadi said
“Article 140 is a constitutional one and the role of
UN will be only supporting the steps of
implementation of the article agreed upon by the
Iraqi sides. The essential solution is the duty of
the high committee of implementation of article 140
which to present its report to the Iraqi council of
representatives.” Dr. Ashraf Khadi also talked about
his visit to Sulaimani and Qahtaniyah village in
Shangal area which recently targeted by the
terrorists.
KRG Minister of Planning Meets a High US
Delegation
KRG minister of planning Othman Shwani received a
high US delegation including General Jay Garner,
Colonel Nap and the US tradesman Satan Bardi today.
They discussed promoting the Kurdistan region
markets and focusing on local production,
encouraging the US companies to invest in Kurdistan,
and importing American goods to the Kurdistan
markets. They also discussed economy and trade
ties between US and Kurdistan region .The delegation
clarified the purpose of their visit and expressed
their happiness for visiting stable Kurdistan
region.
On his part KRG minister of planning explained all
the aspects of developing in Kurdistan region for
the host delegation. He also presented a summary of
those aspects which the US companies can invest in.
He also told the host delegation that as Kurdistan
region owns water, soil and laborer could produce
the best kind of agricultural productions and to
export it to the Gulf, even Europe countries. He
also considered the oil and gas industry sector in
Kurdistan region as significant.
He told the delegation that the US businessmen can
control the huge Iraqi market through Kurdistan
region through importing US best quality goods to
replace the bad quality products of the other
countries, now controlling the Iraqi markets. He
encouraged them to invest in Kurdistan region in the
industrial, tourism and reconstruction of Kurdistan
sectors.
