The Presidency Denies the Media News
An official source in the Iraqi Presidency denied
the Media reported news which said that the
Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi has informed
President Jalal Talabani his intention to resign if
the execution of Ali Hassan al-Majeed be carried
out.
The source added that the Presidency Council members
mentioned several times the necessary of complying
with the Constitution articles in carrying out the
judiciary decisions.
Mutaki Speaks on the Relations Between Iran and
Kurdistan
Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchahir Mutaki stressed
that there are no problems in the relations between
Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan, and he said “there are
elements seeking to damage these relations, and
there are the terrorists that stir up problems in
the area to harm relations of Iran with Kurdistan.”
Maher Iranian News Agency reported Mutaki’s speech
about the development in Iraqi Kurdistan, when he
said “Iran offered lodging for the Kurdish
strugglers and gave them humanitarian assistances to
fight against Saddam’s regime.”
Mutaki highlighted the good relations between Iran
and Iraqi Kurdistan, and the participation of
Iranian companies in the reconstruction of the
Region.
He considered their border procedures as a natural
matter, and he said “it is necessary to take
measures that prevent the terrorists from using the
Iraqi borders to enter Iran areas.”
Haji Omaran will be a Formal Border Gate
Following the ongoing meetings between the Iraqi
foreign ministry and an Iranian counterpart
delegation in Haji Omaran border gate, today they
held another meeting.
Both sides agreed that Haji Omaran to be a formal
border gate and decided on traveling of civilians
through this border to be via passport.
“In our negotiations we reached a decision in which
from today till the next two months officially the
Haji Omaran border entrance to be opened.” Mohamed
Haji, KRG ministry of interior’s consultant, told
PUKmedia on Wednesday.
7 Million Dollars Allocated for Halabja
In frame work of the budget of developing the
regions, KRG allocated 7 million dollars from
Sulaimani governorate budget for Halabja.
“From the total budget allocated for Sulaimani, 7
million dollars have been allocated for Halabja .We
want to designate a proper program with the related
offices in the city on how to utilize from the money
and how to spend it. ”Halabja acting governor told
PUKmedia on Thursday.
Kurdish Candidates in Norwegian Municipal
Elections
On Sept 10, Norwegian Municipals election was held
in which 8 major parties and a number of small
parties participated.
There were also 20 Kurdish candidates aiming at
getting seats of the city councils.
As a result 3 Kurdish citizens succeeded in the
election process and got municipal council
membership; one of the winners Solav Khanaqeeni was
a big success in the election of her city (Asker).
In a statement, Solav told (Kurdistani Nwe)" Despite
the fact that there are few Kurdish families in the
city, Norwegian voters also have voted for me for
sure. We in the municipal council work at the level
of cities. We shall help Kurdistan municipalities to
get benefit from our experience. We will do our best
to establish sisterhood relationship between (Asker)
and one of Kurdistan cities.” Solav said.Solav
Khanaqeeni, born 1975 in Khanaqeen, lives in Norway
for eight years. He is candidate of Norway Labor
Party which has been in power since 2005.
