Iraq and Iran’s Foreign Ministries Delegations
Meet in Haji Omaran
An Iraqi foreign ministry delegation with its
counterpart from Iranian foreign ministry held a
meeting to discuss the border problem between
Kurdistan region of Iraq and Iran.
Mohamed al-Bari, general director of border in Iraqi
federal government, headed the Iraqi delegation
including several senior Iraqi and KRG officials.
Kazim Frutan, head of committee of identifying
borders, headed the Iranian delegation which
included three other members from the Iranian
foreign ministry.
The meeting finished without any results, but they
decided to go on meeting.
Worth mentioning recently both sides held another
meeting about the same issue, without reaching to
any outcome.
Iranian Companies are Willing to Participate in
the Reconstruction of Kurdistan
Many well-known Iranian companies expressed their
willingness to participate in the process of
Kurdistan Region reconstruction and play a vital
role in the reconstruction of Kurdistan Region’s
economic infrastructure.
This willingness was expressed during a wide
economic and commercial conference which was held in
August 9 under the motto (International Conference
for Reconstruction of Iraq and the Mechanism of
research of Investments and Ways of its
perseverance) in Iran.
The conference was attended by representatives of
more than 800 well-known Iranian companies and a
number of Iranian high-ranking officials including
Hashimi Rafsanjani.
Nazim Omar Dabagh presented KRG’s speech which
revealed KRG’s facilitations for foreign businessmen
and the law of investment in Kurdistan Region. The
speech also included security situations in
Kurdistan Region and other factors of investment.
US Forces Commander in Sulaimani Replaced
On Monday a ceremony held on biding farewell to
Colonel Denis Chabman, the former commander of US
forces in Sulaimaniyah, and colonel Hidiol took
office during the ceremony as the new commander of
US forces in Sulaimaniyah.
The former commander of US forces in Sulaimaniyah
appreciated Kurdistan Peshmerga forces in
establishing security in Kurdistan region ,pr took
office omising by his return to US to write a letter
to president Bush and to closely clarify the
situation in Kurdistan region to him.
In return, Mustafa said Qadir, deputy of general
commandant of Kurdistan Peshmerga forces,
appreciated the role of the US forces in librating
the people of Iraq from the most atrocious dictator
of the age. He also hoped all success to the new
commandant, affirming all support and cooperation
for US forces in Sulaimaniyah.
Rizgar Ali: We Refuse to Drop Iraqi Flag
On Sep 10, Rizgar Ali head of Kirkuk provincial
council said that all rumors of removing the Iraqi
flag from the top of the council’s building are not
true. Ali said that the rumors aimed at fuelling
troubles in Kirkuk.”
We are committed to all the articles included in the
Iraqi Constitution.” Rizgar Ali said. Finally Ali
called all the national and foreign media agencies
to come and affirm the reality.
Time of Execution is Not Decided Yet
Muneer Haddad the official spokesman of Supreme
Criminal Court in a special statement to (Kurdistani
Nwe) concerning execution of Anfal criminals said
the Court’s decision is final. As to the time and
place of carrying out the decision, it is up to
government and Council of Ministers, he said.
Hawar Hama Khorsheed, a judge on the board of the
Supreme Criminal Court said the implementation of
any death penalty needs the consent of government or
presidential council, especially concerning war
criminals and perpetrators of massacre.
” The prime minister also has the right to decide on
this issue”. Hama Khorsheed said.
A Delegation from PUK Women Participates in a
Conference in Germany
In Stuttgart, Germany, a conference and a festival
were organized on August 7-8 on the occasion of
passing 100 years on the first women’s conference of
social international. A delegation from PUK women,
which consisted of Kafia Sulaiman, Shanaz Ibrahim
and Razan Jalal, participated in the conference.
