Erbil-Hewler, Kurdistan region (Iraq), -- The
Kurdistan Regional Government is buying 200
greenhouses from the Murcia Region in southeast
Spain
The government in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq is
buying 200 plastic greenhouses and other
agricultural supplies from the Murcia Region which,
according to the EFE news agency, will then be
donated to local farmers. The aim is to help the
Kurdish farmers modernise how they cultivate their
land and so obtain a higher yield.
EFE says the news was announced by Pherda Thorané,
advisor to the Kurdish Prime Minister, on Wednesday,
after a meeting with the Murcia government’s
Councillor for Presidency, Juan Antonio de Heras.
It is part of an agreement signed between the two
regions last year for a pilot project to modernise
Kurdistan’s agrarian sector. |
