Duhok, Kurdistan region (Iraq), -- Turkish forces shelled cross-border regions in Iraq's Kurdistan's province of Duhok, an official source from the border guard forces in Duhok said on Saturday.

"Turkish artillery fired at two cross-border villages in Zakho and Amadiyah on Friday night with no casualties reported," the source, who asked not to be named, said.

Meanwhile, Robar Harori, a villager from Kani Masi district of Duhok, said "more than ten artillery shells fell onto different parts of Haror village last night, leaving no casualties."

Harori added "the shelling caused damage to orchards and houses."
