KRG and Iraqi Government Try to Stop Iranian
Government from Shelling
Mustafa Saied Qadr, the deputy of Peshmerga
Commander told PUKmedia about today’s Iranian
shelling in Pinjawen area that KRG and Iraqi
government are in a discussion with Iranian
Revolutionary Government to stop bombarding the
Kurdistan Region border areas. He also declared that
Iran shells those areas claimed by having PJAK
militants, but unfortunately there is no PJAK in
several places.
The deputy of Peshmerga Commander said that the
Polit-Bureaus of PUK and KDP will meet in Baghdad
today, and they will discuss the Iranian Government
shelling on the Kurdistan Region border areas.
Iran’s Shelling Covers Suren Areas
Today August 23, At 5:30am, Iranian artilleries
shelled Suren, Bani Bnok, Nawew Bardal, Kachali, and
Jomarsi border gate that located behind Khurmal
sub-district. These places fall to the Eastern of
Sulaimani.
A close source said that Islamic Revolution of Iran
deployed many Artilleries and rocket launcher in
Sardasht areas in Iran.
On the other hand last night August 22, Iranian
artillery shelled Gwanistan and se Kuchkan of
Qandeel areas again. A close source from the area
said that the citizens in these places evacuated
their homes and fled to Sangasar areas.
On the other hand last night August 22, Iranian
artillery for the next time directed a letter to
Halsho areas and ordered for evacuating the places
claiming that they will attack Pjak. This has
madethe resident of the area panic.
Ismail Beshkjy: Article 140 should be Implemented
on its Appointed Time
On August 22, Ismail Beshkjy, the popular
Kurdologist, Fattah Karagos, and Sabrula Mulla Ali
visited PUK office in Ankara to express their
sympathy for the explosions in Shangar. They were
received by Bahros Gallali, the PUK representative
there. They condemned the terrorist actions and
expressed their sympathy. Concerning the
implementation of Article 140 they said that the
Article should be implemented on its appointed time.
They also discussed the political issues in Iraq and
Kurdistan.
The Iranian Artillery shells Penjwen City
Surroundings
Iranian artillery continued on bombarding the border
areas of Kurdistan region on Thursday, August the
23rd, claiming the existence of the Iranian Free
Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) in those areas. On
Thursday dawn the Iranian artillery bombarded
several villages of Penjwen district of Sulaimaniyah
city, including Chaldem, Kani Hanafi, Chawgi Chakan,
Kani Sef, and Barda Bapir, a close source told
PUKmedia on Thursday.
The bombardment lasted for 5 hours, causing large
damages orchards of the areas, civilians’
belongings, and forcing the local citizens to
evacuate their areas .Fortunately there were no
casualties, the source added.
President Talabani Urges Iraq Ambassadors to
Consolidate Iraq Relationship with All Countries
On August 22, in his private office his Excellency
the Iraqi president Mr. Talabani held up a banquet
in the honor of Iraq ambassadors who have
participated in the second congress of Iraq
ambassadors and heads of envoys abroad.
The banquet was attended by president of Kurdistan
region Massoud Barzani, Deputy President of
Kurdistan region Kosrat Rasul, members of political
bureaus of PUK and KDP, a number foreign countries
ambassador to Iraq, and all Iraq ambassadors. After
welcoming them the president wished success and
prosperity in their duties to preserve higher
national achievements, manifest realities of the new
Iraq to the public opinion, and consolidate
relationship, cooperation and mutual interest of
Iraq with all countries. His Excellency reaffirmed
the need to develop relationship between Iraq and
all countries on all levels. The ambassadors, in
return, thanked Mr. Talabani for his hospitality and
valued his efforts and wisdom in leading the
government of new Iraq.
Iranian Government Sentences Several Kurds to
Death
A source from Iran told PUKmedia that Iranian Guards
arrests 13 Kurdish people on the borders and
sentenced 3 of them to death. Directly after the
sentencing, they carried out the judgment. One of
the detainees is the citizen of Southern Kurdistan
who lived for several years in Iran.
The source also declared that those 3 Kurdish people
were sentenced to death for helping PJAK.
