A Kurdish Displaced Student from Kirkuk Gets the
Highest Degree over Iraq
Rizgar Ali, the chairman of Kirkuk provisional
council received on Thursday, August 9, the Kurdish
student Ms. Bahra Luqman Salih who got the highest
degree over Iraq during the sixth preparatory
classes examinations’. During the reception in
addition to the student’s father, several
educational officials were attended.
At first Mr. Rizgar Ali presented his
congratulations to Ms. Bahra and her family on
occasion of her success and said that this success
is considered a great achievement and the Kirkuk
provisional council and its people consider it a
pride for them, particularly when she is a displaced
student who suffered many from miseries.
As an appreciation to her and on behalf of the
Kirkuk provisional council, Mr. Rizgar Ali presented
(shield of the Kirkuk provincial council) to her and
a financial reward. Worth mentioning she got an
average of (97) degree on the Iraqi level and she is
a student of Hozan preparatory school for Kurdish
studies in the Kurdish neighborhood of Imam Kasim.
Kurdish Minister Demands the Iraqi Government to
Compensate the Anfalized Areas
During a session of the Iraqi parliament, Mrs.
Narmeen Othman, Iraqi Minister of Environment,
suggested the %2-3 of the Iraqi budget for 2008 to
be allocated for compensating the damaged areas of
Iraq, particularly those devastated areas wherein
the families of the Anfal victims are living.
In the Presence of Senior Officials The 6th
Kurdistan Students’ Community Began
On 9 August 2007, in the presence of Kurdistan
region deputy president, Kosrat Rasul Ali, deputy
president of Kurdistan region government Omar Fattah
and politburos active member, Mullah Bakhtiar, the
6th Kurdistan Students Community began in
Sulaimaniyah city in which 422 members participated.
At the beginning of the congress that was held in
Sulaimaniyah city, Dr. Rahel Fareidun the general
secretary, read the speech of the community’s
general secretary bureau.
During the speech, he pointed out some positive
aspects of the organization from its foundation day
up to now, including its membership in Socialist
International Organizations youth department. Next
Kosrat Rasul, on behalf of president of region,
congratulated students’ community on the occasion of
congress holding and described the organization as
civil and historic remembering some of its martyrs.
After that head of PUK Sulaimaniyah center read Mam
Jalal’s speech referring to the Community’s
combining the city and mountain strife. Then Omar
Fattah, in a speech, talked about new campus’s
projects of Sulaimaniyah city calling it the
Community’s achievement.
The session of the first morning ended with Mullah
Bakhtiar’s speech. Bakhtiar talked about the
importance of decision in electing a strong
candidate for the Community’s secretary. It is worth
stating that 7 people for the secretary general post
of the Community and nearly 40 people for the
secretary’s membership are nominated.
Jabar Farman PUK Politburo Member Passes Away
On Thursday afternoon, August 9, Mr. Jabar Farman
PUK Politburo member passed away after challenging a
disease for 4 years.
Upon hearing the heart breaking news of the death of
our veteran Peshmarga and leader, we in PUKmedia
were deeply saddened to this calamity and we will
never forget his steady struggle for Kurd and
Kurdistan. May God rest his soul.
